How Music Serves Society

Image
How Music Serves Society Music is used in many different ways and plays a huge role in everyones life.  Music is usually seen as an escape from certain problems for different individuals. It is a way humans are able to express themselves without really talking things we go through. Music is that free outlet. In this society, us people turn to music and sometimes begin to feel whole again. It sets the mood in different situations and lets us know that there are other people around the world feeling the same way that we do. Looking deeper into music, the sounds being played behind the lyrics showcase true feeling and the lyrics is what clears things up. Music either puts us deep in our thoughts or gets us up and out of our feelings. Music does not only allow us to express ourselves, it also can bring attention to certain things that are occurring around us today, more of an informational outlook. There are obviously many reasons as to why music is such an important thing in society.  Sam

This song is very positive and tells more of a story.  Lyrics The lyrics that J. Cole is singing in this song is spreading nothing but positive energy. He starts off the song singing "there's no such thing as a life that's better than yours" and as he continues he ends up mentioning many struggles that people go through but as he does that, he makes it clear that it is okay because there is beauty in the struggle and ugliness in the success but at the end of the day you are still blessed to be you. Musical Trip: Mexico

Music of Mexico  Jarabe Tapatío Jarabe Tapatío by Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán was composed by Jesús González Rubio in the 19th century. The beat and tempo throughout this song is very fast and continuous and because it is a song that is made for dancing, I would expect that. The beat and tempo remain fast throughout the song and that is what gets the people up to dance and keeps them up dancing. The tempo is increased as the story line becomes more intense. The dynamics in this song are loud throughout but mainly when there is another instrument that begins to participate in the sound. The Jarabe Tapatío is a Mexican dance which is also often called the national dance of Mexico. The dance was banned for it being seen as too sexually suggestive and challenging to the Spanish Rule but in 1821 Mexican independence brought a new sense of cultural awareness causing the dance to spread even more and be done by many. The dance is made to feel flirtatious vibes. The melodies expressed is J

Saxophone Evolution

Image
Saxophone Evolution 1940s - 2010 All about the Saxophone The saxophone was invented by Adolphe Sax. The saxophone was first intended to be an orchestra instrument but it never happened of some drama in the orchestral institution because it is a wind instrument and it lacked precision. As some time passed, in 1945, the saxophone was known as a "...key element of all military bands..." Saxophones were used to improve the tonal quality in all of the bands. The saxophone was then altered to compete with louder forms of instruments so that it can be used to play dance music. The saxophone is a staple in jazz bands. Adolphe Sax first showed his saxophone creation to a composer named Hector Berlioz in 1841 and throughout the years the instrument underwent many changes with Sax up until 1894, when Adolphe Sax passed away and his business was then passed onto his son, Adolphe Edouard. Many people in the music industry included the saxophone in their performances.   1940s Greg Banaszak

YoungBoy Never Broke Again  Lonely Child Lonely Child by Youngboy Never Broke Again was written by him, himself and was released in 2019. Kentrell, also known as Youngboy is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana but now stays in Los Angeles. When listening to Lonely Child, I feel a wave of emotion connecting to the lyrics themself and feeling like I understand how Youngboy is actually feeling while he was writing and singing these lyrics. This song makes me sad and just think about how many people are actually in this world today feeling like they can't talk to anyone about how they feel or what they're going through.  Lyrics  The lyrics being sang in this song by Youngboy clearly shows that he is someone who has been through a lot and is hurting but put up a wall to hide how he truly feels around others. When listening to these lyrics I personally relate because I am not the type of person to speak to anyone about my feelings. I would much rather figure things out on my own. In the beg
